Le Belmont: pumping electricity into your body

Le Belmont is one of those clubs that you might have heard of although you are not a local from Montreal. In fact it has quite a global known name, which is for example represented in the fact that such artists like Tech N9ne already played there. The nightclub presents active clubbers with a broad variety of music and events, however I of course want to highlight its electronic music oriented evenings. In fact le Belmont has a very good dubstep and drum’n’bass night on Wednesdays, which I already mentioned here.

A bit different thing might be the Bonobo concert, where you can expect a bit of a relaxed crowd, but for the people who enjoy trip-hop, it is a great night to go.

At yelp.ca a user says

Very good Techno and House music, very reasonable drink prices, a crowd that actually mostly just wants to dance!

about le Belmont and I could not agree more. It might be that it is a bit mainstream at times, but I let you be the judge of that. If you want to hear some music played in there and get a first impression of the place, check this video out (but be prepared for bad audio quality):

Also there is a mix by DJ Bordello from August 2011. DJ Bordello will also play at the Igloofest next year, so you might want to check him out.

In general le Belmont is a good address for people interested in electronic music, but don’t expect to meet your typical underground raver in this club.
